- A meeting was called to discuss the possibility of applying for a community grant from the local shire.
- We would need to be incorporated. We talked briefly about the requirements of being incorporated. We’d need to have a yearly AGM where we elect people into the required positions. We will need to write this process into a constitution and apply for an ABN.
- We discussed the possibility of using a different name, for the reason to avoid possible future conflict with Nannup Music Club who put on the Nannup Music Festival.
- Some options that were floated and discussed were:
- Nannup Musicians Association,
- Nannup Entertainment Club/Association,
- Nannup Musicans,
- Nannup Variety Club.
- Everyone in attendance felt strongly positive towards Nannup Variety Club, mostly because it is more inclusive of other forms of entertainment and art.
- It was suggested to approach the Nannup Bowling Club to discuss ways that we can have a mutually beneficial relationship. Steve will contact the bowling club and if all goes well, to organise a meeting between us and the Bowling Club.
- We also discussed other forms of events that we can put together. To bring in artists such as comedians, musicians, poets, dancers, and to look at holding ticketed events, workshops and a variety of entertainment oriented activities.
- The final thing that was mentioned was that we should call another meeting very soon after we talk with the Bowling Club.
